Patient Spotlight
We have so many patients at Speech Pathway who have long journeys that require incredibly hard work from their entire family and we want to start recognizing them for the effort they put in daily! Each month we’ll be highlighting a few of our patients who have shown so much improvement throughout their marathon in speech therapy. See our amazing patients below!
Adriel Y.
Adriel is seven years old and has been in therapy for five years. He works incredibly hard each week and it’s been a privilege for us at Speech Pathway to watch him find his voice! Miss Kelsey loves working with Adriel because he “is a sweet boy who has such a fun personality. I love getting to sing songs with him when he comes to sessions. He has lots of energy when he comes to sessions. It’s so much fun to match his energy and see what happens!” Adriel has grown and changed so much throughout his time with us. We’re so lucky to witness all of the amazing things he can do!
Lucius D.
Lucius is an incredibly fun six year old who has spent three years in therapy. He brings life to the clinic and loves to smile. His mother is so proud of how much he can say. “It has been so rewarding seeing Lucius say his ABC’s and hearing what he wants for dinner. His favorite thing to say is, ‘I don’t love that.’ His speech has grown exponentially in the last year thanks to speech therapy.” Lucius is trialing an AAC device and because he’s a “whiz” on the iPad, he’s able to speak in full sentences with his device and share his thoughts. “Learning to use his device has helped Lucius gain a bit more confidence in sharing, especially when his speech isn’t fully relaying his ideas.” Lucius is patient, funny, loving and smart! He loves to make up stories and entertain others. Miss Ali, who works with Lucius, loves his playful and loving spirit. “His smile lights up his whole face and any room he is in! He is a hard worker and has never given up to make sure others understand his thoughts and feelings! He has had an incredible journey from where he started to where he is now, and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for him! So many of our staff have worked with him, and we have been rooting for him and his communication journey every step of the way!” We always look forward to seeing you, Lucius! Amari C.
Amari is an amazing five year old with three years under his belt in therapy. He has the biggest smile and loves interacting with everyone at Speech Pathway. He is able to communicate well with others by showing them and interacting. He’s begun to follow directions well and repeat words he hears in conversations. His caregiver states, “Amari is very sweet and kind. Laughing and playing with bubbles and music bring him the most joy. He has a smile that lights up the whole room!” Mr. Kirk and Miss Amy love getting to work with Amari. Miss Amy agrees that his smile is amazing. “He loves music, ‘sweeping’ with his trusty broom and mop, and exploring anything with handles. Amari’s excitement when he discovers something new cannot be matched. We are so proud of his hard work and love seeing him each week!” Thank you for being a light in our days, Amari!

We’re excited to announce that the applications for Camp Communicate are OPEN! We’re rolling out a few new camps this year on top of our classic Intense Academy. Spring 2023 Group Registration is OPEN!
If you’ve been waiting to register for groups, we’re ecstatic to let you know that you can enroll NOW for the spring! Groups are perfect for any child and are run by trained professionals in the areas of behavior and communication to assist in social interaction at age-appropriate levels. Our groups range from preschool (3.5-6 years old), to intermediate (7-12 years old), to adolescent (13+ years old). Check out our website for days, times, and pricing information! You do not have to be a patient at Speech Pathway to enjoy the benefits of groups! Come join us!
NEW BUILDING ALERT!
If you’ve driven just west of Council Rd. on 122nd Street, you’ve noticed there’s a sign on a new building indicating “Future Home of Speech Pathway”. That’s right-we’re moving in the near future! It won’t be tomorrow, but keep an eye out for communication regarding our big move down the street to a beautiful new building! We’re excited for easier access to Sonic, being together in one building again, and all the room we’ll have for activities!
Upcoming Events
February is rapidly approaching and that means so is our charity drive! Our chosen charity for 2023 is Infant Crisis Center. Starting February 1, there will be donation boxes in both lobbies to accept physical donations of bottles, sippy cups, diapers, and wipes. You can also donate here! We’d love to help out this amazing organization as much as possible. Anything you can give matters greatly!

Policy and Procedure Reminders
- With cold and flu season upon us, just a reminder that our lobby is closed! If you need to come in before your session to use the restroom or settle your account, please feel free! However, when you arrive for regularly scheduled appointments, please text your clinician that you have arrived and wait in your vehicle until they come to get you for your appointment. We love to give the superstar treatment and escort your child to their session!
- Holidays, sicknesses, family trips, oh my! Have you canceled your sessions lately? Keep in mind our attendance policy requires each patient to maintain 85% attendance each quarter. Following 3 no-call, no-show appointments, unfortunately we can no longer allow your child to be seen in a recurring therapy spot. We also require at least 15 minutes of therapy time for consistent progress, so arriving 10 minutes past your therapy time will result in a cancellation. Let your clinician know as soon as possible if you need to cancel a session, then reschedule!
Speaking of attendance, we’re rolling out an exciting new drawing for clients with great attendance starting in January! Clients who have 100% attendance each month are entered into a drawing for $50 gas card. Clients who have 85% attendance or better for a full quarter (January-March; April-June; July-September; October-December) will be entered in a drawing for $100 gas card!
