day extra special.
From picking the perfect pumpkins to enjoying hayrides and warm cider, it was such a joy to see
everyone celebrating the season together. These moments remind us how lucky we are to have
such a wonderful community of families and team members.
We’ve gathered a few snapshots from our visit — full of fun, friendship, and fall spirit. 📸🍁

Thank you again for making this year’s pumpkin patch trip one to remember. We can’t wait to do
it again next fall! 🎃❤️

❄️ Keep Learning Cozy: Fun Ways to Prevent Skill ❄️
Regression During Winter Break

\Winter break is a magical time — twinkling lights, family traditions, and much-needed rest from busy school routines. But those few weeks away from the classroom can sometimes lead to skill regression (that sneaky “learning slide” where kids forget what they’ve learned). The good news? Keeping kids engaged doesn’t mean piling on extra homework. With a few creative ideas, you can help your child keep their mind active — all while making the most of the season.

1.  Make Reading a Family Tradition📚

When it’s chilly outside, there’s nothing cozier than curling up with a good book. Encourage reading by:
● Starting a holiday reading challenge (with small rewards for milestones)
● Reading aloud as a family — pick a winter classic or a funny picture book
● Visiting your local library for seasonal storytimes or book swaps

Let your child choose what they read — when kids feel ownership over their choices, they’re more likely to stick with it!

2.  Keep Math Merry and Bright 🧮

Math practice can sneak right into winter fun:
● Cooking and baking: Have kids measure ingredients, double recipes, or time the cookies.
● Shopping and budgeting: Let them compare prices, calculate discounts, or estimate totals.
● Board games and puzzles: Games like Monopoly or Sudoku secretly boost math and logic skills.

Bonus: these are great ways to keep everyone together during indoor days!

3.  Write with Winter Magic ✏️

Encourage your child to keep writing — but make it festive and fun!
● Write thank-you notes for gifts or acts of kindness
● Start a “Winter Memories” journal
● Compose a short story about a snowman who comes to life or a penguin’s adventure

Even brief, creative writing keeps spelling, grammar, and imagination sharp.

4.  Learn Through Hands-On Fun 🧤

Winter is full of opportunities to learn by doing:
● Build a bird feeder and track which birds visit
● Conduct simple science experiments (like freezing bubbles or testing how salt melts ice)
● Create DIY crafts or homemade gifts that involve measuring, reading instructions, or problem-solving

These experiences boost curiosity and critical thinking while providing special family moments.

5.  Keep Conversations Going 💬
Family gatherings are perfect for storytelling and conversation. Encourage kids to talk about
their favorite memories, share fun facts, or even interview grandparents about their childhood
holidays. These chats naturally strengthen vocabulary and communication skills.

6.  Use Screen Time Wisely🎮
There’s nothing wrong with some screen time over break — especially when it’s purposeful. Mix
in educational games, creative apps, or kid-friendly documentaries. You might even have your
child make a short video or slideshow about their winter adventures!

 The Takeaway 🌟
Winter break should feel joyful and restful — but that doesn’t mean learning has to stop. By
weaving in a little reading, writing, math, and creativity, you can help your child stay mentally
active and make meaningful holiday memories. Keep it light, keep it fun, and your child will
head back to school refreshed, confident, and ready to learn!
