Intense Academy is a results-driven, intensive program designed for childhood apraxia of speech and severe phonological disorders. This highly structured camp runs for two consecutive weeks per session, with campers required to attend both weeks for maximum impact.

Professional guidance by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), SLP Assistants, graduate interns, and undergraduate volunteers, with support from a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for behavioral coaching.
Parent/Caregiver Training
Group training sessions ensure skills carryover into home programs and coordination with private therapists.

Camp Details
The Intense Academy Summer Speech Therapy Camp from June 16 – 27, 2025! This two-week immersive program is tailored for children aged 3-8 and focuses on empowering their speech and communication skills in a fun, supportive environment.
CAMP COSTS
$3000 for a 2 week Intensive Camp for Speech Therapy.
*There is no financial assistance available through Speech Pathway.
Camp Schedule
8:30 am – 11:30 am, Monday, June 16 – Friday, June 20 & Monday, June 23 – Friday, June 27.
Each day will be full of individualized speech therapy sessions, interactive group activities, and engaging workshops to enhance social and communication skills.
MEET THE INTENSE ACADEMY TEAM
AMY HIGHTOWER, M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist, Assistant Clinical Director
Amy started working part-time at Speech Pathway in 2014 and in 2015 made the change to a full-time position. She started her career in public schools and has a passion for increasing communication for school-aged children and encouraging families to become a more inclusive part of the IEP team. Amy’s areas of interest in speech-language pathology include Apraxia, pragmatics, and language disorders. One of her favorite things to do at Speech Pathway is participate in the intensive camps through Camp Communicate each summer. When she’s not working, Amy loves to play cars with her son Nolan and watch cooking shows with her husband, Brett.
Stephanie Warman, M.A., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist, Director of Programming
Stephanie joined the Speech Pathway team in June of 2018 after completing a clinical rotation here in graduate school. The best part of her job is the laughs, successes, and unpredictability that come with working with young ones. Being able to partner with families to implement strategies at home and feel comfortable in their abilities is one of her favorite parts of being a speech-language pathologist. Miss Stephanie’s favorite Disney character is Mulan, whose fierce spirit she channels when refereeing women’s college basketball. Outside of work, she also loves to read, hike, spend time with her husband, kids, and two handsome pups, and chase around her 14 nieces and nephews.
Emily Hathaway, M.S. CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist, Clinical Director
Emily Hathaway, M.S., CCC-SLP, has over 16 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, specializing in early childhood language, literacy, autism spectrum disorder, childhood apraxia of speech, articulation, and pragmatic deficits. After completing her clinical fellowship at The Children’s Center and working in public schools, she discovered her passion for pediatric outpatient therapy and started her private practice in 2010, transitioning to full-time in 2012. Emily is dedicated to early identification and intervention for speech and language disorders and enjoys leading social groups, speech camps, and mentoring student interns. Outside of work, she loves reading, movies, Disney adventures, and spending time with her husband and four children.

The camp has limited spots—only 12 children are accepted each session to ensure personalized attention. It’s important to sign up as soon as possible to ensure your child gets a spot.
